Also known as Wall Street and FiDi, the Financial District is comprised of urban canyons among luxury high rise buildings in both modern and pre-war European design. Residential development in FiDi began in the mid-1990s, and many of the properties benefit from modern construction and amenities. Rental buildings and condos are popular for their luxury services and amenities as well as their proximity to many residents’ places of business.
In addition to access to South Street Seaport, and the piers that attract millions of tourists all year round, you will also find financial institutions such as the New York Stock Exchange, government facilities such as City Hall and the New York City Supreme Court; outdoor recreational areas such as Battery Park and the South Street Seaport; alternative transportation to New Jersey and Staten Island from the Battery Park Ferry Terminal. Fine dining abounds at restaurants including Cipriani, Delmonico’s or Haru.
